Monique Michel a Native Las Vegan started Newcom in March 1984. Newcom is a licensed Nevada State Contractor with a spotless record. Newcom is a minority-owned certified disadvantaged small business, (8a), women owned company located in a HUBZONE.
In 1993 Newcom bid and was awarded their first AF job, experienced the inevitable learning curve associated with U.S. Government contracts, but still completed the project on time and within budget. The general contractor was pleased with Newcom’s work, as was the communication division of the Air Force Contracting Office. Since that project, Newcom has landed more than 50 projects in open-bid situations, these jobs ranged form a few hundred dollars to over $200,000.00 dollars. Newcom has always completed jobs on time even with accelerated schedules.
Newcom has a reputation for its ability to work with the general contractor and the other subcontractors on their projects. The Army Corps of Engineers and Nellis contracting office have has a good working relationship with Newcom because we always get the projects done to spec and timely. On a few occasions we have had warranty calls Newcom responded timely and in most cases have been user error and not a true warranty call.
Facilities Operations and Maintenance Telecommunication
Newcom will actively pursue the Nellis AFB Maintenance Contract when it is up for renewal. Our performance on system maintenance keeps our customers communication systems functioning properly and our customers happy.
Communications Security Functions
Newcom can install surveillance systems and door opening systems. installation of fiber optic cable for high security communication networks and camera's.
Electrical Contractors
Newcom has excellent working relationships with Solor Electric, NEC Electric, and Nu Power Electric. Newcom is perusing teaming agreements on contracts and design build opportunities with these and other contractors.
Design Build and Value Engineering
Projects Newcom had helped on many design build projects at Nellis AFB and Indian Springs. Newcom provides solutions to RFP on projects with the knowledge of what is needed to meet specs on AFB projects with the best value without sacrificing quality.
